This church residence is located in Kaneohe city, Kanagawa, Japan.
The renovation took place in 2013 by Fujiwara room Architects.
The church previously housed a cult meeting, and the renovation was designed to make the space more welcoming and the atmosphere more intimate.
A 4,411 square foot building was kept intact, and was expanded to a 5,251 square foot residence in three levels.
A 5,251 square foot glass building was added to house the main chapel, while a glass volume was added next to the compound, which now becomes the 5th and top level.
The glass volume is actually a bold departure from the traditional roof channeling and walling found throughout Japan.
